The area contains ancient ruins and is a former US Army firing range; the monument has been preserved due to the long-standing stewardship of the U.S. Army and Fort Bliss.

Role:
Led Graphic Design and Art Direction while collaborating with the Public Relations Specialist overseeing the Castner Range account to develop a comprehensive information package for submission as a proposal for presidential consideration in Washington, D.C., advocating for the designation of Castner Range as a national monument. Communicated regularly with the PR Specialist and the client to translate complex statistics and data into digestible, engaging spreads.

These images serve as a backdrop that complements layouts for historical essays, scientific reports, and newspaper articles documenting the campaign’s progress, including support from Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and other representatives.

The compendium was presented to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland during her March 26, 2022 visit to the El Paso region. Castner Range was officially designated a national monument by President Joe Biden on March 21, 2023.
