Castner Range National Monument is a 6,672-acre protected area on the eastern slopes of the Franklin Mountains in El Paso, Texas. The area contains ancient ruins and is a former US Army firing range; the monument has been preserved due to the long-standing stewardship of the U.S. Army and Fort Bliss.
Brief
Design a layout for a comprehensive information package to be submitted as a proposal for presidential consideration in Washington, D.C., advocating for the designation of Castner Range as a national monument.
Solution
Layout design of the compendium builds on the existing Castner Range brand, utilizing the organization’s photography to set a tone highlighting the region's natural beauty. These images serve as a backdrop to complement the layouts for historical essays, scientific reports, and newspaper articles documenting the campaign’s progress, including support from Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and other representatives. Castner Range was officially designated a national monument by President Joe Biden on March 21, 2023.
